The manufacturer – thanks to a partnership with TRX Innovate and Plisch – said that all the hardware of a complete transmission site can now be integrated into one device.
The product is called the BSP, and Telsat said that it provides all the functionalities of a TV or FM broadcasting site in a single, mast-mounted, small-sized box. It features low power consumption, low electromagnetic pollution, and simplified installation, said the company.
Telsat said the technology it developed with its partners allows a media company to set up fully self-sufficient transmission stations by using mono-directional satellite distribution, with a power supply obtained by alternative energy-sources. This cell-based network model allows the coverage of vast territories by transmitting the signal only to the needed areas, using low-power transmitters and avoiding wasteful coverage of unnecessary areas. Moreover, it also allows scalable investments, whose economic return would be impossible to achieve with a traditional business model, said Telsat.
Telsat is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 8.D37.
