Atto and Facilis have partnered to integrate Atto’s ThunderLink NS 3252 Thunderbolt 3 to 25GbE adapters within the new Facilis Hub shared storage platform.
The set up provides flexible, scalable, high-bandwidth connectivity for Apple’s latest Mac Pro, iMac Pro and Mac mini.
Facilis is demonstrating 4K and 8K editing workflows using Hub with Atto Celerity 32Gb and 16Gb Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) and FastFrame 25Gb Ethernet network interface cards (NICs). Facilis servers also include Atto 12Gb ExpressSAS HBAs, allowing it to create systems that cater for a wide range of broadcast connectivity needs and workflows. Facilis has also been essential in beta testing the soon-to-be-released Atto 360 tuning, monitoring and analytics software, a Ethernet network optimisation tool.
Hub is an evolution of the Facilis Shared File System, but with block-level virtualisation and multi-connectivity performance for demanding media production workflows. Atto CEO Tim Klein called the Hub platform a powerful storage option for anyone working “in compressed and uncompressed high-resolution video finishing formats utilising Ethernet, Fibre Channel or both”.
Facilis and Atto are exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stands 7.B48 and 7.A26.
